Rania Llewellyn oversees the development and execution of product and channel strategies of all business solutions in cash management, payments, deposits and trade finance across all customer segments including Small Business, Commercial, Corporate and Financial institutions.

Rania joined Scotiabank in 1994 where she has held progressively senior roles across Commercial Banking, Roynat Capital, Retail Banking and Corporate Banking. Most recently Senior Vice President Commercial Banking, Rania was responsible to develop and implement the growth strategy of the Commercial Bank in Canada as well as to drive the underlying organizational change.

In 2014, Rania was chosen by The Institute of International Finance for their inaugural Future Leaders Group, which recognizes young leaders within the financial industry and fosters ties between rising stars from different regions and backgrounds.

Out of the office, Rania is no less accomplished. She was born in Kuwait and immigrated to Canada from Egypt in 1992. Her early experiences as a newcomer have shaped her perspective and given her a strong sense of social responsibility. Rania is currently a resident of Toronto, a wife and mother of two children and a fearsome opponent on the squash court.

She holds a Bachelor of Commerce, MBA and honorary doctorate from Saint Mary’s University.
