Bhavna began her career in the travel industry but discovered her passion for payments during her tenure at American Express. She is a results-oriented executive with a progressive track record of driving performance in Fortune 500 companies, start ups and associations. Recognized for payments innovation across a diverse range of payments portfolios. Bhavna is currently serving as co-chair or ACT Canada’s Mobile Strategic Leadership team. Previously, Bhavna was with the Emerging Payments group at American Express where she represented Amex at the Canadian Multilateral Chip PMO. Bhavna holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Ryerson University and a Masters of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business.

The Awards Committee was impressed by the positive impact Bhavna has had on Berkley’s business, as she has been instrumental in establishing Berkley as a leading managed services provider of pre-paid card solutions in Canada. Her role in building symbiotic partnerships with banks and networks and developing innovative pre-paid products and programs, has earned her the respect and admiration of payments colleagues inside and outside of Berkley. Bhavna takes a keen interest in youth and children’s initiatives, and generously offers informal mentorship, guidance and networking opportunities to students and young professionals.
